About hcet
Our mission
To provide educational opportunities through cultural, cooperative, creative, community-educational projects for tΔngata katoa - workshops, publications, festivals, campus and outreach-classes and studios.
We work collaboratively with whanau-hapu, community groups and facilities including local schools, Hauora Hokianga Health Trust and we also umbrella, tautoko and support other groups.
Our vision
Hokianga is a raranga/woven network of thriving, connected, and integrated communities, where values of whanaungatanga, whakapapa, and rangatiratanga underpin all aspects of our mahi.
Through awhi and mahi tahi/sharing of ako/learning, relationships and connections are strengthened, auahatanga/creativity and hauora/health are fostered.
Our mahi
HCET promotes, preserves and protects Te Tiriti o Waitangi through intentional collaborations, matauranga MΔori, tikanga and te oranga tonutanga/sustainability of te taiao woven through our creative and innovative educational activities.
Self-determination, empowerment and inclusion are at the heart of our mahi. We intentionally focus on hauora/wellbeing of he tangata and work closely with Hauora Hokianga to support educational endeavours that address specific oranga/wellbeing needs in this wahi/place.
