Hello, my name is Kristina, and I am a potter and ceramics instructor. My main passion when it comes to clay is working on the wheel. I have been working with clay for about ten years; the first 5 were in early adolescence. I’ve dedicated myself to exploring the art of pottery — a journey that has shaped not only my creative practice but also my connection to community and art culture.
From the first moment I sat at the wheel, I was captivated by the rhythm of clay spinning beneath my hands — the balance between movement, focus, and touch. Over the years, wheel throwing has remained at the heart of my work, allowing me to create pieces that are both functional and expressive. The process of shaping clay into form continues to inspire me, teaching patience, precision, and respect for the material.
For the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing this passion as an instructor. I love to share everything I know about clay. Teaching a detailed introductory course on working with the wheel, hand building and glazing, guiding students through every step — from centering and pulling up walls to exploring surface finishes, and glazing techniques. Watching my students discover the magic of the wheel and gain confidence in their craft is one of the most rewarding parts of my practice.
In my own creations, I mainly focus on functional art. Though I do find myself hand building occasionally.
As both a maker and a teacher, my goal is to continue fostering creativity, connection, and appreciation for the art of pottery — one turn of the wheel and one glaze at a time.
